These Vendor Terms & Conditions govern your participation as a vendor or event organiser on the Melbourne Sri Lankan Association (MSLA) Marketplace. By registering as a vendor, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Platform Commission
4% + $0.70 AUD
per transaction · Volume discounts available

The default commission rate for all vendor transactions. Volume discounts are available via direct negotiation with MSLA. Contact us to discuss your arrangement.

1. Vendor Eligibility

To become a vendor on the MSLA Marketplace, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Have an active and approved payment account (Stripe or other MSLA-approved method)

MSLA reserves the right to approve, deny, or remove any vendor application at its absolute discretion.

2. Vendor Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your vendor account credentials. All activity conducted through your account is your responsibility. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact MSLA immediately.

3. Event Listings & Management

Vendors may list all types of community events including social, cultural, networking, and fundraising events. All event listings must:

  • Comply with MSLA's values and mission
  • Respect diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds
  • Contain accurate and truthful descriptions, dates, locations, and pricing
  • Not contain content that promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind

MSLA reserves the right to remove or modify any listing that does not comply with these requirements.

4. Pricing, Commission, and Payments

The default platform commission is 4% + $0.70 AUD per transaction. Volume discounts may be available for high-volume vendors — contact MSLA to negotiate your rate.

Payment terms are as per the MSLA payment schedule communicated to you upon registration. MSLA reserves the right to update the commission structure with reasonable notice to vendors.

5. Use of MSLA Resources

As a vendor on the MSLA Marketplace, you have access to the following platform features:

  • Apple Wallet and Google Wallet pass creation tools
  • Ticket management and check-in applications
  • Event page builder and customisation tools
  • Attendee communications and email templates
  • Analytics and reporting dashboards

These tools are provided for the purpose of managing your events on the MSLA platform and may not be used for other commercial purposes.

6. Refunds, Returns & Disputes

Vendors are responsible for handling refunds for their own events in accordance with a clear refund policy that must be communicated to ticket purchasers. Disputes between vendors and attendees should be resolved directly where possible. Unresolved disputes may be escalated to MSLA for mediation.

7. Vendor Obligations

As a vendor, you agree to:

  • Keep your event listings accurate and up-to-date
  • Respond to attendee inquiries in a timely manner
  • Not misrepresent yourself as an employee or official representative of MSLA
  • Comply with all applicable Australian consumer protection and commerce laws
  • Ensure your events comply with the MSLA Drug & Alcohol Policy

8. Intellectual Property

You must have the rights to all content, images, and materials you upload to the MSLA Marketplace. By uploading content, you grant MSLA a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content for promotional purposes across all MSLA platforms and channels.

9. Marketplace Rights

MSLA reserves the right to:

  • Monitor, review, and remove any content or listing at its discretion
  • Suspend or terminate vendor accounts for violations of these terms
  • Modify platform features, commission rates, or terms with reasonable notice

10. Limitation of Liability

MSLA is not responsible for the actual events hosted by vendors, the outcome of ticket sales, or any disputes arising from vendor-customer interactions. MSLA's role is limited to providing the marketplace platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MSLA and its committee members, affiliates, and representatives from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from your events, listings, conduct, or breach of these terms.

12. Data Protection & Privacy

You must protect the personal data of your attendees in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws. You must not use attendee data for unsolicited marketing or share it with third parties without consent.

13. Termination

You may close your vendor account at any time by contacting MSLA. MSLA may terminate your account without notice for material violations of these terms. Any outstanding orders or disputes remain your responsibility after termination.

14. Bank Transfer Withdrawal

Vendors may withdraw their earnings via bank transfer. A small processing fee may apply. Withdrawals are processed in accordance with the MSLA payment schedule.

15. Amendments

MSLA may update these Vendor Terms & Conditions at any time. Vendors will be notified of material changes. Continued use of the MSLA Marketplace after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Victorian courts.
